  • It seems almost too simple to be true, but by reading regularly with your children during their preschool years, you are giving them the biggest boost toward a successful education they will ever get.

The United Way of Whiteside County is proud to be the sponsor of “Literacy Is Fun for Everyone” (L.I.F.E.) program that will help you read with your children. Every child from newborn to age 5 will have books of their own, at no cost to you, thanks to United Way of Whiteside County and other community partners.

CGH Medical Center provides the first book for newborns, “The Little Engine that Could”. After the parents sign up, the child will be mailed a FREE book each month. The program is open to all Whiteside County children newborn to age 5.

This program is part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.  For more information please call 815-625-7973 or click on link to register Imagination Library
